Wondering if Eclipse would be worthwhile a few months back as an alternative to netbeans I thought I would wait until the launch of the new version (Galileo) this morning, and give it a go. I was pleased to see the BIRT reporting plugin which looked like it might be quite useful.
Trying to install the new version of Eclipse which launched their new version today, I started by downloading Galileo. Downloaded, unzipped, hunted for something that looked like an executable and then clicked on the icon, only to get a "eclipse executable launcher unable to companion library" error message.
Now there are many instances of this error message on google, but no response I've read has really made sense in terms of how to fix it. Then I realised as hunting through files and directory structure that the subdirectories were blank - I'd unzipped them without paths. Do'h!
